Ennepetal products are handcrafted one by one using high-precision German Bilstein parts.
The E-12 steering damper is a 12-stage damping force adjustable model that employs a large-capacity design with a piston diameter of Φ46 and a shock absorber outer diameter of Φ50.
This is an original setting by Showa Garage. The damping force adjustment dial allows for a wide range of situations, from off-road driving to city driving. The dial located on the top of the absorber allows for smooth adjustment with a pleasant click feel. The E-12 can be overhauled by Ennepetal. Because it can be used for a long time while restoring its initial performance, it is a reasonable option in practice, even though there is an initial cost.
■About the setting: In addition to optimizing the damping force, the difference in operating load during left and right steering due to the product structure is also adjusted to be the same on both sides.
■About the single-tube type
- By securing a large pressure receiving area of the piston valve, the surface pressure and oil flow rate of each part can be optimized. It responds quickly to even small inputs and achieves highly accurate settings.
- The large oil capacity provides ample heat capacity, allowing for stable damping force over extended periods. - The structure with excellent heat dissipation suppresses oil degradation, contributing to a longer lifespan.
- Because oil and gas do not mix, cavitation is less likely to occur, resulting in a linear reflection of damping force.
